Hello friend, I hope you’re having a great week!
Today is day two of Hero Arts’ 45th Anniversary Blog Hop and A Blog Named Hero is one of the stops! My contribution is this card which uses the same stamp and cut set that I used for the very first card I ever posted on Instagram.
I started making cards in the spring of 2017. Prior to that, I’d never done anything crafty, except for the occasional knit-stitch-only scarf that I’d make just to meditate. I couldn’t even give those away, they were so blech! In February of 2018 I stumbled across a card challenge (I’d never even heard of those) and had to post my card somewhere so I could link it up. Instagram seemed like a quick and easy way to post my card and so SkyPaperScissors was born. What blew my mind was that Hero Arts liked and left a comment on my post. It was the best feeling ever! Here’s a link to that card in case you want to see it 🙂
So for the hop, I immediately knew I wanted to use the same sentiment set. This time I paired it with some images from the December 2018 My Monthly Hero card kit.
I started by using Wow! Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the dandelions onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Using blending tools, I blended Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks over the panel. I splattered the panel with a bit of clean clear water, let the drops sit for about 10 seconds, and then mopped up the drops with a clean towel.
While the panel was drying, I die cut the love sentiment four times using the die from the Love Stamp & Cut set. I stacked and adhered the die cuts together. Before I adhered the die cut to the card front, I stamped the smaller sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
I trimmed an eighth of an inch from each side of the card front and then adhered it to an A2-sized card base to finish.
Thank you so much for visiting!
A gorgeous update, Seeka! LOve those little wishes being sent on their way!
