Dad Thanks For Everything That You Do

Hi there, I hope you’re having a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp’s Celebrate You release is live today and I’m loving this sentiment set from CZ Designs.  This dad sentiment is such a nice balance of bold, clean, and simple!

This sentiment is the largest from the Parental Props stamp set which has, as you can guess by the name, a selection of mom and dad sentiments.  Here I’ve combined it with a background I made using the Amazing stamp set which was part of a Simon Says Stamp card kit a couple of months ago, and which is available for individual purchase.

I started by using Wow! Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment onto a small panel of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.  Then I used foam blending tools to blend on Broken China and Stormy Sky Distress Oxide inks to create a gradient effect at a slight diagonal.  When I finished inking and blending, I used a clean paper towel to gently wipe away any ink that was sitting on top of the heat embossing.

While the panel was drying, I worked on the background which is an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White.  I used a selection of round stamps from the Amazing set and randomly stamped them using the same two ink colors.  I ended up stamping three panels before I ended up with one that felt like it had the right balance of colors and white space.  It’s funny how subjective that can be.  I’m sure if I looked at the other panels right now, they both would feel right ;p

To assemble the card, I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment panel and then adhered it to the stamped panel which I then adhered to an A2-sized card base.

I’ll have another card to share using a mom sentiment in a couple of days so I hope I’ll see you then!

Thanks so much for visiting!
