For You | The Stamp Market May 2019 Release Blog Hop

Hi there, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

I’m thrilled and tickled all shades of pink to be part of today’s mini blog hop celebrating The Stamp Market‘s May release.  If you want to start from the beginning, please visit The Stamp Market’s blog. If you’d like to visit any of the other stops, please see the list at the bottom of this post. Otherwise, read on and I hope you enjoy the last stop on the hop!

I’m sharing two cards featuring the new For You die.  I love this big and bold die!  Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing additional cards so I hope you’ll come back to visit.

For my first card, I started by using Wow! Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the beautiful new Diamond Tile Background stamp onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.  Then I die cut “you” out of the panel and used Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Carved Pumpkin, and Wild Honey Distress Oxide inks to ink up the letters.  To hold the letters in place while I blended inks over them, I cut out the “you” again from a piece of scrap cardstock, discarded those letters, and then placed my heat embossed letters into the negative spaces left behind, securing them temporarily with a strip of Post-it tape over the back of the panel.  This allowed me to blend ink easily over a full panel, rather than struggling with blending over individual letters.

20190504_092952To create a bit of dimension, I die cut “you” three more times out of the same cardstock and then stacked and adhered the layers together.  I did the same with the “for” die cut, stacking and adhering four layers together, and leaving the top layer un-inked.

To assemble the card, I adhered the heat embossed panel onto an A2-sized card base and then adhered the inked-up and layered “you” into the negative spaces.  Then I adhered the layered “for” over top.

For my second card, I again used the “you” die from the For You die set and paired it with the Botanical Beauty die (from a previous release) and a sentiment stamped using parts of the new Extra Extra stamp set.

I started by die cutting the “you” out of an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White.  Then, on a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cards stock, I blended Bellini, Tiara, and Mint To Be Catherine Pooler inks to create a gradient background.

Then I die cut Botanical Beauty three times out Neenah Solar White and used a Zig Two-Way glue pen to add a bit of glue to the stems of the leaves.  I adhered them to the ink-blended background and then adhered the “you” die cut panel over top, letting the tips of the leaves peek up and over the panel.

For the stamped sentiment I selectively inked up words, using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink,  from a longer sentiment from the Extra Extra stamp set.  I stamped the words onto a strip of Neenah Solar white and then backed the strip with foam tap and adhered it to the card front.  To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thank so much for coming by!
