Hi friends, I hope you’ve been having a good week!
Today I’m sharing another card using Technique Tuesday’s April Greenhouse Society stamp set, Meadow Flowers.* I find this little bunch of flowers so calming to look at after a hectic work week.
I started by heat embossing the floral image onto a 4 bar sized (3.5”x4 ⅞”) piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used Wow! Embossing Pad, a sticky clear ink, and Wow! Aztec Glintz embossing powder.
To color the image, I smooshed four Distress Oxide inks onto my glass work surface. I chose Tattered Rose and Rusty Hinge for the blooms, and Bundled Sage and Forest Moss for the leaves and stems. Using a water brush pen filled with clean clear water, I picked up one color at a time and painted the flowers, starting with Tattered Rose and then dropping in and blending a bit of Rusty Hinge for shading.
I did the same with the leaves and stems, starting with Bundled Sage and then dropping in and blending a bit of Forest Moss. For the anthers, I used the tiniest smidge of Aged Mahogany, picking the ink up directly from the ink pad with my waterbrush pen.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair Pinecone ink, a dark brown, and then adhered the card front to an 4 bar-sized card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
This card is gorgeous, and you’re right, so soothing to just look at for awhile.
