Love You

Hi there, I hope you’re feeling well!

Today I had some really good news so naturally I was drawn to some bright and cheerful colors 🙂  I pulled out a pretty background stamp and sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and some creamy Distress Oxide Inks to play with.

I started by heat embossing the Simon Says Stamp Emma background stamp onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.  I used Wow! Embossing Pad (I continue to be impressed with this ink!) and white Hero Arts embossing powder.

Then, using foam blending tools, I started inking up the panel with Distress Oxide Inks.  I added Spiced Marmalade to the center of the heat embossed pattern, Abandoned Coral to the outer ring of the pattern, and Picked Raspberry to the edges and corners of the card.  After this initial layer of color was down, I took my time blending the different colors together where they met.  It was also then that I decided I wanted to tone down the Picked Raspberry with a bit of Candied Apple, and to brighten the center of the pattern with some Wild Honey.  When I was happy with the colors, I ran a very lightly damp clean paper towel over the heat embossing to remove any ink that was sitting on top of it.

While the panel was drying, I used the Simon Says Stamp CZ Design Love You dies to die cut the sentiment, and it’s shadow layer, out of Neenah Solar White.  I used the same combination of Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple to ink up the shadow layer before I adhered the sentiment onto it.

To assemble the card, I backed the sentiment with foam tape and adhered it to the background.  Then I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
