Hello again!
I just love this big floral stamp from the Simon Says Stamp’s Beautiful Flowers stamp set. It’s been at arms length for months, having last been used in August, and I finally decided it just needed to be colored again 🙂
I stamped the image in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Then I used RV25, RV55, RV17, and just a touch of RV69 to color the blooms. I love that the stamp is so detailed that you don’t have to figure out for yourself where to shade!
For the leaves and closed blooms, I used G40, G43, and G46. When I fignished coloring, I went back in with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen and added white dots to the stamen.
I hemmed and hawed over what sentiment to use. I decided that I liked the contrast of this bold font from the Simon Says Stamp Love You Like stamp set paired with the soft flowers. I also hemmed and hawed over whether to use the stamp, or the coordinating sentiment die. I settled on stamping for a one-layer card and used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. Since I stamped over part of the floral, I used a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen to outline the tail of the u so that it wouldn’t get lost.
To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so very much for visiting!
