Hi there!
Today I’m sharing a card with off-the-edge die cutting and a whole lotta white. I made a few different backgrounds but settled on white-on-white.
I started by stamping the large butterfly from the Butterfly Dreams stamp set from Reverse Confetti onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest Cardstock. I used the Hero Arts Pink to Red Ombre Ink Pad and used my Misti to make sure I could stamp multiple times.
I hand stamped the smaller butterflies using Altenew Crimson, Ruby Red, and Grapevine inks. Then I used a few Copics to add a bit of shading: R25, R39, RV19, RV25, and RV69.
I used the coordinating die set to due cut the upper half of the large butterfly and then used a Xacto knife and a rule to trim away the top portion of the card. I had originally thought to place a patterned background behind the panel so that the top butterfly would be floating over the pattern, but I didn’t like how it made the top part of the card look completely separate from the rest of the card. So, I backed the butterfly panel with foam tape and adhered it to another white panel of A2-sized Neenah Solar White.
To finish, I adhered the card front to an A-sized card base.
Thanks for visiting!
