Just Because Cards, Miss You Cards

I Miss You | Hero Arts 2021 Summer Catalog Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!

The fabulous Hero Arts 2021 Summer Catalog collection is officially live! We’re celebrating this awesome new release with a blog hop and giveaway and if you’ve arrived from Pocono Pam’s blog, you’re right on track. If you’d like to start from the beginning, head on over to the Hero Arts blog.

I’ve got a few cards to share so I hope you’ll find a comfy spot, grab a snack, and hang out with me for a bit!

Miss You – Succulent Bouquet

My first card features the new Succulent Bouquet stamp set and coordinating dies, and a sentiment from the new Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL set.

To recreate this card:

  1. Stamp the bouquet in Copic-friendly Intens-ified Black ink onto Dove White cardstock
  2. Color the image; I used Copic markers BG70, BG72, BG75, BV000, BV01, G40, G43, R82, and R85
  3. Use the coordinating die to cut out the image, then set it aside
  4. Stamp the sentiment onto Dove White cardstock and trim into a strip, then set it aside
  5. Use Post-it Tape (or other low tack tape) to mask off the edges of an 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Dove White cardstock
  6. Use a blending brush to blend Soft Lilac ink onto the exposed center of the panel, concentrating the color at one corner and letting it fade almost to white at the opposite corner
  7. Use foam tape to adhere the bouquet and the sentiment strip to the ink-blended background
  8. Adhere the card front to a card base

Hello There – Sun Ray

My next card is quick and easy and features the new Sun Ray Bold Prints background stamp. I paired it with a sentiment from the Hello There Stamp & Cut set and some clouds die cut using the You Lift Me Up die set.

To recreate this card:

  1. Use Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and Gold Glitter embossing powder to heat emboss the background onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Mustard cardstock, then set aside
  2. Die cut the sentiment twice, once from Mustard cardstock and once from Dove White cardstock
  3. Adhere the two sentiment pieces together, offsetting them slightly
  4. Die cut the clouds from Dove White cardstock
  5. Adhere the clouds to the background using glue or adhesive dots
  6. Adhere the sentiment to the background using foam tape
  7. Adhere the card front to a card base

I Hope All Of Your Fishes Come True – Color Layering Angelfish

My next card pairs the same Sun Ray Bold Prints background stamp with the new Color Layering Royal Angelfish stamp set and coordinating dies.

To recreate this ocean scene:

  1. Use Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and Brass embossing powder to heat emboss the background, slightly offset, onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Adriatic cardstock, then set aside
  2. Stamp the angelfish and coral images onto Dove White cardstock
  3. Stamp the layers of the angelfish in Ocean, Dandelion, and Tangerine inks; I did a bit of ombre ink stamping on the Dandelion layer by adding some Tangerine to the bottom of the stamp and softening any harsh lines of ink by blotting it with a rag
  4. Stamp the coral fill in layer in Tangerine ink; again I did a bit of ombre ink stamping by adding some Crimson ink to the tips and foot of the coral
  5. Use the coordinating dies to cut out the images and then color in the white borders with a teal marker (I used BG07)
  6. Use the same embossing products in step 1 to heat emboss the sentiment onto a scrap of Adriatic cardstock; then fussy cut it out
  7. Adhere the coral to the background using glue or adhesive dots
  8. Adhere the angelfish and sentiment using foam tape
  9. Adhere the card front to a card base

You’re Amazing – Looking Glass Dies

My last card today features some of the fun new Looking Glass Paris and Looking Glass Day Or Night die sets. These die cut images are so fun to layer together!

To recreate this Eiffel Tower scene:

  1. Use a square die from the Square Inifinity Die set that is just larger than the Looking Glass dies to cut squares of Canary, Kiwi, and Pebble cardstocks
  2. Position the sunray die over the Canary square and die cut, then use a blending brush to blend Butter Bar ink over the center of the sun to deepen the color and add a bit of variation
  3. Position the Eiffel Tower die over the Pebble square and die cut, then use a blending brush to add a bit of Charcoal ink to the tower
  4. Position the tree die over the Kiwi square and die cut, then use a blending brush to add Fresh Lawn ink over the bottom of the trees and over the lawn
  5. Using more square dies from the Square Infinity Die set, create a white frame by using two dies together to cut Dove White cardstock
  6. Adhere the Looking glass squares together, then adhere the white frame on top, then set aside
  7. Mask off a square towards the top of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Dove White cardstock
  8. In the exposed square, blend Splash Reactive ink. Or, just die cut a square from Mist cardstock and adhere it to the panel
  9. Adhere the framed die cut image to the center of the blue square
  10. Stamp the sentiment, from the Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL set, in black ink
  11. Adhere the card front to a card base

  2. All your cards are so pretty but my favorite is the angelfish. I love your coloring on the coral and the fish. Coloring the edges in teal really helped them pop.
