Friendship Cards, Just Because Cards

Hello Friend | Simon Says Stamp Sweatheart Release

Hello friend, I hope you’re having a nice weekend! Today I have another card that features goodies from the Simon Says Stamp Sweetheart release. For this card I used the new Tessellating Snowflakes embossing folder and the new Just My Type: Friend layering stencil and die bundle (also available as separate stencils and die set).

I started off by creating the background. I placed a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock in the embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine, following the sandwich instructions that came with my machine. I turned the resulting panel over so that the smooth side, with indentations pushed down into the panel, was facing up and used a Tim Holtz Medium Distress Brayer to brayer Seafoam ink over the panel. Then I trimmed 3/8″ off both the length and width of the panel.

Next, I worked on the sentiment. I used the four-piece layering stencil set, large blending brushes, and Sweets, Watermelon, Blush, and Peony Pawsitively Saturated inks to create the colorful striped sentiment. The stencils are very easy to line up, especially with the registration marks that are at the corners of each stencil. And, each layer of the stencil includes two sentiments (the other is “thank you”) so it’s an easy two-for-one! I used the coordinating dies to cut out the sentiment, cut two more sentiment shapes from heavy white cardstock, and then glued the layers together to make a heavier and thicker piece.

To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the embossed panel to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base and then glued on the sentiment.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Hugs & Kisses | Simon Says Stamp Sweetheart Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome! Today is day one of the Simon Says Stamp blog hop celebrating both the Smitten and Sweetheart releases and I’m very glad you’re here! If you’ve arrived from Lea Lawson’s blog, you’re right on track. And, if we haven’t met before you can find me here on my blog and also over on Instagram.

My card today features the gorgeous new Whirl Diamond Plate die and the Hugs & Kisses dies. I started off by using foam blending tools to blend Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide inks over a 4.25″ x 5″ panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock.

When the ink was dry, I used the Whirl Diamond Plate to cut it, taking care to keep the resulting panel upside down and to let the fallout pieces stay in place. I added foam circles to the backs of the fallout pieces, removed the release paper, and then placed a 4.25″ x 5″ panel of white cardstock over the piece to adhere it to the fallout pieces. Then, I rotated the Whirl Diamond Plate frame by 180 degrees and used more foam tape to adhere it to the panel.

Next, I die cut the sentiment three times from heavy white cardstock. I stacked and glued the layers together and then glued them to the background. To finish, I glued the card front to a card base.

Oh, Hello There | Simon Says Stamp Sweetheart Release

Hello there, crafty friend!

The new Simon Says Stamp Sweetheart release is live and there are so many fun products to choose from! I have a few projects to share over the coming couple of weeks and I hope you’ll come back for a blog hop in a few days!

My card features the new Regal Hearts cling stamp. I created an ink-blended background with Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide inks and when it was dry, I used Wow Embossing Pad and Hero Arts White embossing powder to heat emboss the Regal Hearts pattern onto the panel.

Next, I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp a sentiment from the Hello There Animals stamp set onto white cardstock. I die cut the sentiment using the coordinating dies (the stamp and die set are also available as a bundle) and then used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the background. To finish, I used more foam tape to adhere the card front to a top-folding card base.

Thank you so much for visiting!
