Hello there and welcome!
Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Buttercup! If you arrived from Michelle Short’s blog, you’re right on track. If you’d like to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.
I started by sorting through my cardstock collection and picking out shades of yellows, peaches, and pinks, plus a green. I cut out the layers of the bloom and then glued them all together following the layering guide. I also die cut several leafy branches from the green cardstock.
Next, I used the included sentiment die in the set to cut “Thank you” from gray cardstock. I cut its shadow layer from white cardstock and then adhered the pieces together.
To create a background for the flowers and sentiment, I used the Fine Frames Rectangles die to cut another piece of the same gray cardstock. Instead of separating the frames, I kept them together and added clear tape to the back to permanently hold them together.
To assemble the card, I glued the frame to a 4″ x 5.25″ inch piece of white cardstock and then used a combination of adhesive dots and foam tape to adhere the blooms and the leaves. I added the sentiment with foam tape and then adhered the card front to an A2-panel of gray cardstock which I then adhered to a card base.
Thanks for coming by! Please be sure to check out information about the giveaway below before you head on to visit the lovely Tina Smith!
