Warm Hugs | Altenew Exotic Garden Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

I have four cards to share today so I’ll get right to it!

Warm Hugs

My first card features the new Blooming Tulip stamp set and coordinating dies (also available as a bundle). These are my favorite products from the entire release; the shape of this bloom is unique and I really love the details in the layers!

To recreate this card:

1. Stamp the pink bloom’s layers in Heart Beat, Coral Bliss, and Pink Pearl Crisp Dye inks onto white cardstock, then set the flower aside
2. Stamp the orange bloom’s layers in Autumn Blaze, Orange Cream, and Sunkissed, then set aside
3. Stamp the yellow bloom’s layers in Snapdragon, Chamomile, and Sunray, then set aside
4. Stamp the centers of all the flowers in Bamboo and Parrot
5. Stamp the stems (I used two for this card) and leaves in Bamboo and Grass Field
6. Die cut all the images and set aside
7. Mask off a 3/8″ border around a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock
8. Use a large blending tool to blend Aqualicious ink onto the exposed center of the panel, concentrating the color at the bottom of the panel and letting it fade out towards the top of the panel
9. Remove the masking
10. Stamp the sentiment (from the Needlework Motif stamp set) in black pigment ink onto white cardstock, then trim into a strip
11. Begin to assemble the card by adhering the lower center part of each bloom to the background using glue or adhesive dots
12. Adhere the stems using glue (only a small peek of the pink flower’s stem is visible; trim the stem to make it easier to slide beneath the orange bloom)
13. Adhere the leaves using glue
14. Add dimension to the petals of each flower by adding small pieces of foam tape behind each petal (it’s not necessary to remove the release paper to stick the petals down to the panel; leaving them unanchored allows the petals to curl up a bit more naturally)
15. Adhere the sentiment strip with foam tape
16. Adhere the card front to a card base

Hello

My second card features beautiful images from the Enchanting Beauty stamp set (coordinating dies and bundle also available). To recreate this gradient stamped card:

1. Place a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of white cardstock into a stamp positioning tool in a way that allows you to stamp off the edges of the card
2. Position stamps from the stamp set over the panel to fill in the entire area and then pick the stamps up with the lid of the stamp positioning tool
3. Ink the stamps near the bottom with Aqualicious, then use a lint-free cloth or a blending brush to soften any hard lines of ink
4. Stamp onto the panel
5. Ink the stamps in the center of the pattern of stamps in Volcano Lake ink and soften any hard lines at the top and bottom of the ink area
6. Stamp onto the panel
7. Ink the stamps at the top of the pattern of stamps in Lime ink and soften any hard lines
8. Stamp onto the panel
9. Repeat to fill in any gaps in the stamped pattern
10. Trim the panel to 4″ x 5.25″
11. Stamp the sentiment (from the Folk Art stamp set) in black pigment ink
12. Use foam tape to adhere the card front to the center of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of gray cardstock
13. Adhere the card front to a card base

Thinking Of You

My next card features the Bitterroot Flower Stencil Set and coordinating dies (also available as a bundle). Layering stencils are great for creating dimension and for creating a large image of flowers and leaves without having to mask. I picked purples for these blooms. What would you pick?

1. Following the layering guide that comes with the stencil set, position each layer of the stencil over white cardstock and blend on ink using small ink blending tools
   1. For the flowers, use Wisteria, Hydrangea, Ultraviolet, Andromeda, Midnight Violet, and Plum
   2. For the leaves, use Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades
2. Use the coordinating die to cut out the image
3. Use the Decorative Swirls Die Set to cut out three leafy branches from white cardstock
4. Stamp the sentiment (from the Leaf Canopy stamp set) in black pigment ink onto white cardstock, then trim into a strip
5. Adhere the sentiment strip to a strip of black cardstock that’s slightly taller than the white sentiment strip, allowing the black cardstock to appear at the bottom of the sentiment
6. Use adhesive dots to attach the stems of the white leafy branches to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock, leaving the leaves free
7. Use foam tape to adhere the die cut Bitterroot image over the leafy branches
8. Place small pieces of foam tape behind a few of the leaves of the leafy branches to give then more dimension
9. Use foam tape to adhere the sentiment
10. Adhere the card front to a card base

Sending You Comfort & Hope

My last card today features the Sweet Ginkgo stamp set (coordinating dies also available). This one-layer card was very quick to put together and could easily be changed up by using different colors and a different sentiment. To recreate this card:

1. Mask off a 3/4″ border on three sides of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock, then mask off enough of the bottom of the panel to leave an open square
2. Use large blending tools to blend Frayed Leaf ink at the bottom of the square and Butternut ink at the top, blending the two colors where they meet
3. Before removing the mask, stamp a ginkgo image in black pigment ink
4. Remove the mask
5. Stamp the sentiment in black pigment ink
6. Adhere the card front to a card base
