Birthday Cards

Happy Birthday | Hero Arts April My Monthly Hero Countdown + Giveaway

Hi there, I hope you’re having a nice day!

Today is day one of a three-day countdown to Monday’s Hero Arts April release! My geometric and graphic birthday card features the new April My Monthly Hero card kit (the kit and link go live on 4/5)!

I started off by stamping the fish image three times in Tangerine Bold ink onto Dove White cardstock. I used the coordinating die to cut out the images and then set them aside.

Next, I got out Adriatic, Paradise, and Mist cardstocks. I had previously cut a few 4.25″ x 5.5″ panels and from these, using a paper trimmer, I cut random width strips of each color.

For the background panel, I began with a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Dove White cardstock. I used a tape runner to add adhesive over the bottom half (plus a little more) of the panel, and then I began adding the strips of teal and blue cardstock, making sure that each strip was snug up against the next. When I finished, I trimmed the panel down to 4″ x 5.25″.

Next, I stamped the sentiment in Onyx pigment ink and adhered the three fish using foam tape. To finish, I used more foam tape to adhere the card front to an A2-sized panel of Pebble cardstock which I then adhered to a card base.

Thanks so much for visiting! In case you missed it, be sure to swing by the Hero Arts blog for more ideas and to enter Hero Arts’ giveaway for a card kit!
