Birthday Cards, Feel Good Cards, Just Because Cards

I’m So Grateful For You | Hero Arts 2021 Spring Catalog Release Blog Hop

The 2021 Spring Catalog collection is officially live on the Hero Arts website! We’re celebrating this fabulous new release with a blog hop and giveaway and if you’ve arrived from Pocono Pam’s blog, you’re right on track. If you’d like to start from the beginning, head on over to the Hero Arts blog.

I’ve got a few cards to share today so grab a cuppa and join me!

My first card features the beautiful Lily Pond Heroscape stamp set. I started by stamping the layers of the pond, beginning with Deep Ocean and Aquatic inks to ombre stamp the blue layer. For the lily pads I used Green Apple and Pine, and for the lily flowers I used Soft Pink and Pale Tomato. Then, I stamped the reeds in Emerald Green and then used the coordinating die to cut out the scene.

Next, I worked on the sky background. Using blending brushes, I blended Soft Pink and Dandelion inks onto an A2-sized panel of Dove White cardstock. I love the peachy color that these two make when they meet!

To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment, the frog, and the dragonfly in Intens-ified Black ink and then used foam tape to adhere the lily pond and reeds to the background. Then I adhered the card front to a card base.

I Miss You

For my next card, I began by creating a small envelope using the envelope die from the Envelope Accessories Fancy Die set and a piece of Azalea cardstock.

Next, I used the due Hello There Stamp & Cut set to cut “hello there” from Dove white cardstock. I adhered this to a small piece of vellum and then added a little bit of glue to the bottom of the vellum before sliding it into the envelope. Then, I used white embossing powder to heat emboss “I miss you” onto Pitch Black cardstock and set this and the small envelope aside.

For the background, I stamped the Script Bold Prints background in Soft Granite ink onto an A2-sized piece of Dove White cardstock. I trimmed this to about 4″ x 5.25″ and then used foam tape to adhere it to a card base. To finish off the card, I adhered the mini envelope and then used foam tape to adhere the black sentiment strip.

Happy Happy Birthday To You!

My third card is a 2-for-1 featuring the Birthday Message Cover Plate die. I began by blending Lime Green and Soft Lilac inks onto opposite ends of an A2-sized piece of Dove White cardstock. Then I used the cover plate die to cut the panel, saving the fallout letters.

For one card, I used the die cut as a template to place and adhere (with foam tape) the fallout letters onto a panel of Dove White which I adhered to a card base.

For the second card, I used double-sided tape to adhere a piece of acetate to the back of the ink-blended die cut and then added a double layer of foam tape around the border of the back of the panel. Next, I sprinkled some Icicle Sequin Mix into the center of a panel of Dove White before adhering the card front (the piece with the acetate) over the sequins. To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.

You Are Radiant

For my last card today, I stamped the lotus bloom and lotus pad from the Hero Florals Lotus stamp set in Intens-ified Black ink onto Dove White cardstock. I used a selection of Copic markers to color the images and then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

For the background, I used a blending brush to blend Splash Reactive ink onto a panel of Dove White cardstock. Using a small round paintbrush, I splattered clean clear water onto the panel, waited a few seconds, and then blotted up the droplets with a clean paper towel. I stamped the sentiment in black ink and then adhered the bloom and lotus pad with foam tape before adhering the card front to a card base.

  1. What great cards! The lily pond scene is so peaceful. I like all the cards but the second one is my favorite. What a great idea to have the hello there coming out of an envelope. Thanks for the inspiration!
