Stand Tall Darling | Hero Arts July 2022 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome! It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the beautiful tropical-themed July release with a blog hop full of inspiration and a giveaway. If you’ve arrived from visiting Pocono Pam, you’re right on track!

Hero Arts is serving up fun tropical summer vibes with this release. This month’s kit features a flock of flamingos in HeroScape form. Layer the included inks to easily stamp the gorgeous birds, create a scene with water below and clouds above, and embellish with the colorful gems or Teal Hero Pearls that round out the kit!

I started off my card today by using the three ink colors included in the kit to stamp the three layers of the flamingos. I stamped their beak and eye details using Onyx pigment ink. Using the coordinating die, I cut out the image and cut three additional pieces from heavy white scrap cardstock. I layered and adhered all four layers together, with the stamped layer on top (a different way to add dimension to the flamingo piece would be to use foam tape when adhering it to the background).

Next, I used Post-it Tape to mask off the borders of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock. Using blending brushes, I blended Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, Taffy, and Berry Smoothie Reactive inks over the exposed area of the panel, blending the colors into each other to create a smooth transition from one color to the next. I removed the mask and then stamped the sentiment in Onyx pigment ink.

To finish, I glued the flamingos to the card front, trimmed off the right edge of the flamingos that hung off the panel, and then I glued the card front to a card base.

My second card today features the new Large Toucan Bold Prints background stamp.

For this card, I used Onyx pigment ink and clear Ultra Fine embossing powder to heat emboss the image onto a panel of watercolor paper. I used Karin Brushmarker Pro markers to color just the parrot. I trimmed the panel to 4″ x 5.25″ and then glued it to an A2 panel of Papaya cardstock which I then glued to a card base.

Thank you so much for visiting! Your next stop is the lovely Jennifer Kotas! Be sure to read below for giveaway details.

  1. Oh my gosh! I love the light pink flamingos against the GORGEOUS background. And then you also used my favorite stamp from the new collection–the BIG bird. I really want that stamp. You colored it in such a fun, happy way, it’s adorable.
