Merry Christmas | Hero Arts October My Monthly Hero Countdown + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to day one of the three-day countdown to Monday’s Hero Arts release! The new kit goes live at 10am PT on October 4th!

My card today features a beautiful image and die from the kit. I really love this die!

To recreate this card:

  1. Stamp the Christmas tree image in Copic-friendly Intens-ified Black Ink onto Dove White cardstock
  2. Use Copic markers to color the image (I used YG06, YG09, and G09 for the tree, RV04 and RV09 for the pink details, BG45 and BG49 for the blue details, Y11 and Y08 for the yellow details, and E21 for the candles and angel) and then cut it out with the coordinating die
  3. Use the frame die to cut out the windows from a panel of Dove White cardstock
  4. Use Onyx pigment ink to stamp the sentiment above the windows
  5. For the background, cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Arctic cardstock
  6. Use a blending brush to blend Blue Raspberry Reactive ink over the top part of the panel, fading out as you move down to panel to create an ombre sky
  7. Splatter an opaque white paint over the panel to create the illusion of snow
  8. Assemble the card front by adhering the window frame die cut over the sky background and adhering the tree in front of the window using foam tape
  9. Adhere the card front to a card base

Thank you so much for visiting!

  1. What a lovely card. The coloring on the tree is awesome. Thanks for including the Copics you used. I can’t wait to see the rest of the kit.

  2. Love seeing the view from inside the house! So many contemporary homes have all-white interior window trim now – it makes the colors of your sky and interior decorations just beautiful!

  3. Seeka, this is a lovely card! I like that you’ve used the window in a home instead of a storefront. The detail in the “wood” frame around the window is so reminiscent of an old Victorian home.

  4. I never thought of the window as background. Another look that I really like. It gives you two different ways to use the window. Love it!

  5. Oooh! We are invited INSIDE the house this time, instead of pressing our noses up to the cold window to peek inside!!! What a bright, happy tree. It reminds me of my childhood. Beautiful card Seeka!

  6. This is such a lovely card and I like that you did exactly what I had in mind, using it as an inside. When my boys lived in my state, I just to go out of my way to get the natural trees and had so much fun decorating it. They joined the Armed Forces, which I am so proud of them, but I got sick, going through separation, no more decorating. I do make packs of 10 cards each and send them to family and friends.

  7. Dear Seeka – Love the way you colored this. That light blue is a nice foil to the usual Xmas colors. Love your work and am eager for this HA release!
