Wishing You A Beautiful Day | Altenew Eclectic Vibes Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello, crafty friend, I hope you’re having a nice day!

Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Eclectic Vibes release! If you arrived from Terri Koszler’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.

I have four cards to share today so I’ll get right to it!

Wishing You A Beautiful Day

My first card features the new Watercolor Extravaganza stamp set and coordinating dies (also available as a bundle). I used a modified rock and roll technique (modified because I was working with a Misti) to add a bit of color variation to each layer which I thought also looked a bit like watercolor.

To recreate this card:

  1. Starting with the large yellow flowers, stamp their base layers in Sunray ink onto white cardstock
  2. Clean the stamp and ink up only the outer edges of the same layer in Chamomile ink; soften any harsh lines of ink (towards the center of the flowers) by dabbing at them with a rag. Stamp over the impression created in step 1.
  3. Position the second layer of the yellow flowers and repeat the two-step stamping process, this time using Sunkissed and Snapdragon inks
  4. Position the third layer of the yellow flowers and repeat the process again, this time using Orange Cream and Autumn Blaze
  5. Stamp the center of the largest flower in Orange Cream
  6. Stamp the blue detail centers of all three flowers in Starlight
  7. Use the same two-step stamping technique for the pink flowers; use Pink Pearl and Coral Bliss for the pinks, then use Lime for the stems
  8. Use the coordinating dies to cut out all the images and then set them aside
  9. Use the Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Die to cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock, then trim about 0.25″ off each side
  10. Stamp the sentiment in Starlight ink onto a piece of white cardstock and trim into a sentiment strip
  11. Adhere the blooms to the debossed panel using a combination of glue, adhesive dots, and foam tape for a variety of depth
  12. Adhere the sentiment with foam tape
  13. Adhere the card front to a card base using foam tape

Thank You For Being My Friend

This card features extra blooms from my first card and the new Thank You For Being My Friend die set. I paired these new items with the Areca Palm 3D Embossing Folder from a previous release.

  1. Use the Areca Palm embossing folder on a piece of light teal cardstock (this happens to be Paradise from Hero Arts)
  2. Use a foam blending tool dab on a white shimmery ink over the palm leaves (I used Delicata White Shimmer pigment ink)
  3. Use the Thank You For Being My Friend die set to cut the sentiments from white cardstock and the shadow layer from vellum; adhere the two layers together
  4. Adhere the sentiment to the background using glue
  5. Adhere the blooms to the background using glue dots and foam tape
  6. Adhere the card front to a card base

Happy Birthday

My third card features three of the four stencils in the Playful Patterns Stencil Set, and a sentiment from the Just A Number stamp set.

To recreate this card:

  1. Position the stencil with the flowers over a piece of white cardstock (I started with a 6″ square piece of cardstock)
  2. Use a large blending tool to blend Chamomile ink over stencil, completely filling the flowers; then use a small blending tool to blend a bit of Coral Bliss over the tips of the flower petals
  3. Remove the stencil and then position the second stencil, with the leaves, over the panel
  4. Use a small blending tool to blend Limeade ink over the stencil to create the leaves, taking a bit of care not to overlap the green with the flowers (I used torn bits of masking paper to loosely cover some of the petals)
  5. Remove the stencil and then position the third stencil, with the dots, over the panel
  6. Use a small blending tool to blend Ocean Waves over this third stencil
  7. Remove the stencil (rinse all three the clean off the ink)
  8. Use a black pen to color centers to the flowers
  9. Trim the panel to 4″ x 5.25″
  10. Stamp the sentiment in black pigment ink
  11. Use foam tape to adhere the card front to an A2-sized panel of gray cardstock (I used Pebble from Hero Arts)
  12. Adhere the card front to a card base

You’re Magnificent

For my last card, I used the lovely new Gardenia Duo stamp set and coordinating dies (also available as a bundle) and paired its blooms with a white-on-white textured background created using the Burlap Texture die from a previous release.

To recreate this card:

  1. Stamp the outline layer of the blooms and leaves in Permanent Black ink onto white cardstock
  2. Stamp the two layers of the gardenias in Pink Pearl and Coral Bliss
  3. Use the coordinating dies to cut out all of the images and set aside
  4. Use the Burlap Texture die to cut a piece of white cardstock; allow some of the fallout pieces to stay in place
  5. Adhere the Burlap die cut to the upper right are of an A2-sized panel of white cardstock
  6. Use adhesive dots and foam tape to adhere the leaves and blooms
  7. Stamp the sentiment in black pigment ink
  8. Adhere the card front to a card base
