The new Essentials By Ellen release is live over at Ellen Hutson and I was lucky enough to get to play with the sweet new Pressing Thoughts stamp set and coordinating dies. There are other great products in the release and the inspiration by the Ellen Hutson design team is just out of this world, so I hope you have time to go take a peek!

I started of my card by using Wow! Embossing Pad and Hero Arts Brass embossing powder to heat emboss the pansy image onto watercolor paper. Then I used the watercolors and the waterbrush pen from the Altenew Essential 12 Pan Set to add just the slightest bit of pink and green to the petals and leaves. When the image was dry, I used the coordinating dies to cut it out and then I set it aside. I used the same die to cut three pieces of thick scrap white cardstock and then adhered all four layers together, with the watercolored image on top.

Next, I used the Painted Stripes stamp set to stamp three stripes across a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. The ink colors I used were Altenew Frayed Leaf, Rouge, and Blush Crisp Dye inks. I trimmed 3/8″ off the length and width of the panel and then stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

To assemble the card, I used glue to adhere the pansy stem to the background and then used foam tape to adhere the card front to an A2-sized card base.
