Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Peruvian Lily Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, I hope you’re having a nice day!

Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Peruvian Lily! If you arrived from the wonderful Virginia Lu’s blog, you’re right on track. If you’d like to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.

I love how dimensional the layers of this bloom are. They look realistic to me, even if the colors I chose are not!

I started off by creating two blooms. If you don’t have a lot of color cardstock on hand, consider creating your own by blending or spraying inks onto white cardstock. For my card though, I chose six colors of blue and teal cardstocks so that I could create one bloom that is slightly darker than the other. For my lighter bloom, in the foreground, I used Simon Says Stamp Peacock, The Stamp Market Island, Hero Arts Paradise, and Concord and 9th Aqua, and Hero Arts Arctic cardstocks. For the bloom in the background, I omitted the lightest color and added Hero Arts Adriatic as the darkest color. I adhered the layers together, added anthers cut from Simon Says Stamp Sunshine cardstock, and set the two blooms aside.

Next, I used Post-it tape to mask the borders of an A2-sized piece of white cardstock. Then, I sprayed Warm Sunshine Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray over the exposed area, concentrating the color at the bottom left of the panel and letting it fade slightly towards the top right.

When the panel was dry, I removed the mask and then adhered the two blooms along with a sentiment that I created using a stamp from the Folk Art stamp set (it’s a stamped sentiment on white cardstock, adhered to a piece of black cardstock).

To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.

Thank you so much for coming by! Please be sure to check out information about the giveaway below before you head on to visit the super talented Laurie Willison!

  1. Hi, Seeka – I love your card. I adore the color choices. I never knew that this was called Peruvian Lily. I’ve always called it alstromeria. You continue to inspire!!
