Miss You Cards

Hoping To Sea You Soon | Hero Arts May My Monthly Hero Countdown + Giveaway

Hi there, I hope you’re having a great day!

Today is the last day of the three-day countdown to tomorrow’s Hero Arts April release. The new kit and add-ons (and this link) go live tomorrow at 10am Pacific time! I am in love with this month’s theme. Can you guess what it is?

For this card, I heat embossed many of the kit images using Onyx pigment ink and clear Ultra Fine embossing powder onto Canson XL watercolor paper. Then, using a variety of Karin Brushmarker Pro watercolor markers and a Water Flow Brush filled with clean clear water, I colored the images. When they were dry, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and then I set them aside.

For the background, I began with a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Paradise cardstock and then used a blending brush to blend Blue Raspberry Reactive ink over the bottom third of the panel, letting it fade as I moved upwards. I stamped the sentiment in Onyx pigment ink and then stamped a few bubbles in Unicorn Pigment ink.

To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the large coral reef image to the background. I tucked an extra starfish beneath the reef piece and above the sentiment, and then I used foam tape to adhere the three fish. For the seahorse, I used a craft knife to cut along the spiral of its curly tail and then I tucked him partially behind, and hooked to, a piece of coral. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks so much for visiting! In case you missed it, be sure to swing by the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration and to enter Hero Arts’ giveaway for a card kit!

  3. HI, there – I adore this card. It’s very pretty and interesting – lots to look at and admire. Did you mean that we’re coming down to the May release from HA? You wrote “April” in your piece. Maybe I am off… but April’s in the rear-view mirror at this point. Seeka, love, love, love your cards. Always exceptional!

  5. I love how you have nestled the sea life into this underwater scene. Such a beautiful and inspiring card, Seeka! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I needed this “pick me up” after a deer ran into our car this morning. What a way to start a Monday. Hero Arts is making my day brighter! 🙂
