Thank You Cards

Thanks, My Heart Is Still Smiling | Pinkfresh Studio October Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there, happy Friday! I’m so excited to be part of today’s blog hop celebrating Pinkfresh Studio’s new release. If you arrived from Nina Marie, you’re right on track! If you’d like to start at the beginning, head on over to the Pinkfresh Studio blog.

Be sure to read through for giveaway, gift-with-purchase, and free shipping information!

My first card features the Incredibly Grateful stamp set and coordinating dies. I began by using the outline die to cut a piece of vellum. Next, I stamped the floral frame onto the die cut piece using Wow! Embossing Pad ink and then heat embossed the image with white Hero Arts embossing powder. I used the smaller inner die to cut a piece of Neenah Solar White and then set both pieces aside.

Next, I used the Lea’s Ornate Uppercase die set and Heather’s Lowercase die set to cut out “thanks” from a variety of red, pink, and coral cardstock. I also stamped the smaller sentiment, from the Incredibly Grateful set, in black ink onto a strip of Neenah.

For the background, I stamped Winterberry Background stamp twice, in Rocky Slope gray ink, onto a long panel of Neenah.

To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the die cut letters to the vellum piece and then added small dots of glue behind the vellum (and beneath the foam tape) in order to adhere the piece of Neenah that I’d die cut with the inner floral die. I backed this combined piece with foam tape and then adhered it to the Winterberry background. I adhered the small sentiment strip and then finished by gluing the card front to a card base.

For my second card today, I used the Incredibly Grateful coordinating stencil set, and a sentiment from the same stamp set I used above. This stencil set is designed to coordinate with the stamp set, but here I’ve used the set on its own.

I began by positioning the first leafy layer of the stencil over an A2-sized piece of Neenah and holding it in place with low-tack tape. Using Post-it tape, I masked off several areas of the stencil, leaving only a leafy “L” exposed. With a blending brush, I blended Fresh Pear ink over the stencil. Then I rotated my cardstock panel 180 degrees and repeated.

Next, I aligned the second leafy stencil and went over it with the same Fresh Pear ink, deepening the color by going over it several times. I rotated, repositioned, and repeated. I followed this same process to add the flowers, which are Candy Violet purple.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment in black ink and then trimmed the panel down to 4″x5.25″ before adhering it to an A2-sized card base with foam tape.

  4. I really like the softness of using the silver with the 1st card and the phrase, “my heart is still smiling” is just beautiful with it.

  5. Beautiful cards! I love the look of the white embossing on the vellum. And I like the way you showcased the use of the slimline stencil on an A2 size card. Thanks for the inspiration.
