Wishing You A Season Full Of Cheer | Hero Arts October My Monthly Hero Countdown

Hi there, I hope your weekend is getting off to a nice start!

It’s day two of countdowns to the October Hero Arts release on Monday, and today I’m sharing a card featuring the new My Monthly Hero card kit (the kit goes live on 10/5).

I used the large ornament die from the kit to die cut three ornaments, one each from Arctic, Kiwi, and Peony Hero Hues cardstock. Then I used handled blending brushes to add a bit of color around the edges of the ornaments. I added Pool Party to the blue ornament, Fresh Lawn to the green ornament, and Bubble Gum to the pink ornament.

Next I used the same ink colors to stamp different elements from the kit onto the ornaments. Then I finished them up by splattering watered down white gouache over them.

To assemble the card, I backed each ornament with foam tape and then adhered them to an A2-sized piece of Dove White cardstock. I trimmed the ornaments where they hung off the edge of the panel and added those excess pieces to other areas of the panel. I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base and then added a small twine bow as a finishing touch.

Thank you so much for visiting!

  1. I like the pretty non-traditional colors you used and the way you kept the decorations on the ornament so clean and simple. Lovely card. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Oh gosh, I really like what you’ve done here! I’m not actually a big ornament person! But I like this very much — the ink blending, the small icons, the simple elegance of it all, I had to come over to your blog and tell you!
