Happy Birthday Gorgeous | Hero Arts August 2020 Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there, I hope you had a good weekend!

It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the new August release with a blog hop and giveaway.  If you’ve arrived from the Hero Arts blog, you’re right on track!

This month’s theme is all about making the most of a stay-cation and I’ve got four cards to share with you today.

For my first card I stamped, colored, and fussy cut an image from the Pool Party Bold Prints background stamp. I just love this lounging lady in her floppy hat!

Next I used Post-It Tape to mask off the bottom portion of a 4″ x 5.25″ panel of white cardstock.  Using a blending brush, I blended Pool Party Reactive ink onto the panel, concentrating color next to the mask and letting the color fade to white towards the of the panel.  I sprinkled clean clear water over the inked area, let the droplets sit for 5 seconds or so and then dabbed them up with a clean paper towel.

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the older Birthday Hugs and Kisses stamp set in Intens-ified Black ink, adhered the glam lady with foam tape, and then used more foam tape to adhere the panel to an A2-sized card base.

For my next card, I blended Carved Pumpkin, Scattered Straw, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks onto a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock.  When the panel was dry, I used clear Embossing & Watermark ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss the Destination Bold Prints background stamp onto it.

I stamped the sentiment, from the You Are Amazing collaboration stamp set, onto white cardstock and then adhered it to a piece of slightly-larger vellum.  I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the background and then adhered the panel to a card base.

My third card features a cute pup from the Lounging Pups stamp set. I stamped this little guy in black ink and then colored him up with Copics to coordinate with the background, another ink-blended panel using all of the same Distress Oxide colors I used earlier ( except for Peacock Feathers).  I used the coordinating dies to cut him out and then used foam tape to adhere him above the sentiment that I stamped in black ink. I trimmed the panel a bit and then used foam tape to adhere it to a card base.

For my last card, I used white embossing powder to heat the Pool Party Bold Prints background stamp onto a panel of Mist cardstock. Then I used Cool Aqua and Turquoise Sea Karin Brushmarker Pro markers, and a waterbrush pen to add some quick shading along the embossed lines.

I heat embossed a sentiment from the older Coloring Layer Mountains stamp set onto vellum and then added some very small pieces of foam tape behind some of the letters before adhering it to the background.  To finish, I adhered the panel to an A2-sized card base.

Thank you so much for spending time with me today!  Your next stop is the super-talented Nichol Spohr (full hop list is down below!).
