Hi there, I hope you’re doing well.  It’s been such a challenging week for many so I’m so very glad you’re here.

Today we’re celebrating Altenew March 2020 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release! If you arrived from the Maryam’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for the full blog hop list!

Altenew-Line Art, Fine Frames Square 1-Seeka 1

Stamp Web Label Artwork 2018-07 no extra border.aiFor my first card today I used the new Line Art stamp set and coordinating dies.  I started by stamping the solid floral elements in Chamomile and Snapdragon Crist Dye inks and then die cutting them.

To create a background, I ink blended Dried Marigold and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide inks onto a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock.  Next, I used a square die from the Fine Frames Square die set to cut a window out of an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.  I stamped a sentiment from the Line Art stamp set in black ink onto the frame and then adhered a few of the stamped flowers around the window before adhering the frame, with foam tape, to the ink-blended background.  I tucked a few extra flowers under the frame and adhered them directly to the background with liquid glue.  To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Altenew-Spheres & Spirals, Fine Frames Rectangles-Seeka 2

For my next card I pulled out the new Spheres & Spirals stamp set as well as a few rectangle dies.

I stamped one of the large circle stamps around the four sides of an A2-sized panel of Neenah Solar White in Teal Cave Crisp Dye ink.  Next, I used the Fine Frames Rectangles die to create a small frame out of white cardstock.  Onto the middle fallout piece, I ink blended Dew Drops, Aqualicious, and Teal Cave inks, concentrating the darker color around the edges of the rectangle. Then I stamped the sentiment, from the Spheres & Spirals stamp set, in the center.

To assemble the card, I adhered the sentiment and its frame to the background with foam tape, and then I adhered a single fine frame (die cut using the Fine Frames Cover die) around the border.  To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.

Altenew-Fabulous Florets, Fancy For You-Seeka 1

My last card features the beautiful Fabulous Florets layering stamp set and coordinating dies (also available as a bundle).  I stamped the three layers of the flowers in Sunray, Chamomile, and Snapdragon Crisp Dye inks and then stamped their centers in black ink.  I die cut them out and set them aside.

Stamp Web Label Artwork 2018-07 no extra border.aiNext, I used the solid layer of the large floral image to create a patterned background on an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White.  I used Buttercream ink which is lighter than the other three inks that I used for the layered flowers.  I also prepared a sentiment by using the Fancy For You die to die cut four sentiments, which I stacked and adhered together.

To assemble the card, I backed each of the die cut flowers with foam tape and adhered them to the background.  I trimmed off the parts of the flowers that were hanging off the edge of the card and then used those spare pieces to fill areas around the border of the card.  In total I only used four flowers, though it looks like more.  Finally, I adhered the sentiment and then adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

  3. Great cards. I especially like all the layering on the last one. It’s amazing how much stamping the base layer of the flower in the background added to the card. Thanks for sharing!
