BAF Hellebore with Ink

For my first card, I started by stamping all three of the layered flowers. I used Sunray as the base layer, then Chamomile, then Coral Bliss, and finally Heart Beat for the detail in the center of the flower.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and then I set them aside to work on the background.

I used Post-it Tape to mask off the edges of an A2-sized piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock.  Then, using a foam blending tool, I blended Pink Pearl ink into the unmasked area.  I concentrated color at the top of the card and then faded to near white towards the bottom of the card.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink and then adhered the blooms using glue, glue dots, and foam tape for some variation in depth.  Finally, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

For my second card, I repeated the stamping and die cutting, this time using Blush, Rouge, Ruby Red, and Grapevine for the flowers. I used a die from the Leaf Clusters die set to create a stem which I colored with a W4 Copic marker.  I adhered the stem and blooms to a small piece of white cardstock and then stamped the sentiment.

For the background, I stamped several of the leaves from the Leaf Clusters stamp set in Evening Gray ink around the border of an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White.  Then I adhered the floral piece with foam tape to the background before adhering the background to a card base.

  2. The first card is so bright and sunny! Can’t help but cheer up when you look at it. The second card is beautiful also…I wouldn’t have thought to use grapevine with it. I’ll be trying that soon.

  28. O, the lovely, soft blending on the first card had me thinking you couldn’t possibly make anything more beautiful. Then I saw the second card. It’s also incredibly beautiful!!! Such different presentations of the same flower show me it’s versatility. Thank you for sharing your talent.

  29. Both of your cards are so very lovely, the 2nd one being my favourite. I have a Shooting Star Hellebore, also known as a Christmas Rose in my garden, & the delicate pale flowers amidst the darker leaves are so pretty.
