Blog Hop Graphic

Hi there and happy August!

Today we’re celebrating Altenew’s Build-A-Flower: Bellflower* release! If you arrived from the Altenew Scrapbook Blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for the full blog hop list!

BAF_Blog Post with Ink (1)

This gorgeous layering set is available as a stamp and die bundle, and also as a bundle that includes ink cubes in colors that coordinate perfectly together.  You can also subscribe to reserve your monthly Build-A-Flower set and make sure that you never miss out!

For my first card, I started by stamping the three blooms in four shades of teal and blue.  I used Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Teal Cave, and Starlight and just love how they turned out!  Then I stamped their leafy bases in Lime and Fresh Leaf.  I used the coordinating dies to die cut the stamped blooms and also die cut some additional pieces of blank cardstock so that I could layer and adhere the die cuts together to create a chipboard-like piece. I stamped the stems in Fresh Leaf and die cut those as well.

For the background, I blended Coral Bliss ink onto an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock, concentrating the color at one corner.  Then I splattered some blue and white gouache over the panel, concentrating the splatter in the same corner.

I used black ink to stamp the sentiment, which is from the Build-A-Flower: Japanese Mum stamp set and then adhered the stems and blooms. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

For my second card, I repeated the stamping and die cutting, this time using Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, Rubellite, and Midnight Violet inks for the blooms, and Olive and Moss for the leaves and stems.

I adhered these to a white-on-white background that I made with the Layered Plaid Cover Die B die.  Rather than letting all the fallout pieces fall out, I kept them in place using paper tape across the back of the panel.

I stamped a sentiment from the Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet stamp set in black ink onto a piece of cardstock and then used foam tape to adhere it to the card front.  To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to check out the giveaways below before you head on to visit Caly Person!
