Hi friends, I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!  Today I’m joining a special Technique Tuesday and Wow! blog hop celebrating summer.  It’s day two of the two-day hop and if you’ve arrived from Dana Kirby’s blog, you’re right on track.  If you’d like to start from the beginning, please head over to the Wow! blog.  The full blog hop list is at the bottom of this post.

Technique Tuesday and Wow

No Blog hop is complete without prizes! WOW! Embossing Powders has 6 powders of your choosing along with a WOW! carrying case to safely store your powders. And, Technique Tuesday is giving away two $20 gift certificates to their store.

The winners will be chosen at random from the comments left on all the posts on both days. You’re encouraged to leave comments on both days since the more comments you leave the more chances you have to win these fabulous prizes.

To have a chance to win a prize, you must leave a comment on each blog post. This hop is open internationally.

The Card

To start my card, I used foam blending tools to blend Distress Oxide Inks onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Note that the finished card is a smaller 4bar size.

I blended Antique Linen over the bottom of the card, and then I added some Tumbled Glass at the edge of of the sandy color.  I blended in some Salty Ocean and then finished with a bit of Blueprint Sketch near what would be the top of the waves. On a separate piece of cardstock, I created a light blue sky with Tumbled Glass, with just a bit of Salty Ocean blended in around the edges.

To add some texture, I splattered a bit of watered down Yellow Ochre and Burnt Sienna gouache over the sand and some Cerulean Blue over the waves.  I have a $5 set of Artists Loft gouache from Michael’s that I use for splattering.  I set the piece aside to work on the shimmery heat embossed waves.

I took another piece of Neenah Solar White and rubbed a Wow! Embossing pad over it.  Then I sprinkled Under The Sea embossing powder over the inked area and hit it with a heat gun.

20190622_162156I then pulled out the Technique Tuesday Waves On The Border die and die cut both the inked panel and heat embossed panel.  I discarded the fallout pieces from the inked panel and used paper tape to back the cut out areas.  Then I pieced in the fallout pieces of the heat embossed panel into the inked panel.

Using images from the At The Beach stamp set, I colored a few shells with Copics and then cut them out.  Then I used Metallic Copper Sparkle embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment onto the inked panel.

To assemble the card, I trimmed both panels to 4bar size and then I adhered two shells flush to the card and used foam tape to adhere the foremost shell.  Then I backed the sand/ocean panel with foam tape and adhered it to the sky background.  Finally, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thank you so much for coming by!  Your next stop is Jaine Drake!
