Hello there, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

Today we’re celebrating parents and spreading the world about Altenew’s card drive to collect cards for seniors living in nursing homes or shelters to let them know they are not forgotten. For my card today I chose the Best Mom stamp set.*  I really love this beautiful branch of flowers and reach for it often.

I started by stamping the blooming branch in Copic-friendly black ink.  Because of the angle I chose for the image, the end of the branch didn’t quite reach the edge of the card so I filled the gap using an 0.3 black Copic Multiliner pen.  Then I used R81, R83, and R85 to color the flowers.  For the leaves, I used YG21, YG25, and YG17.

I had originally intended to add a frame, or some other embellishment, but in the end I decided to keep the card ultra clean and simple.  So, I heat embossed the sentiment on to strips of black cardstock and then adhered them with foam tape.  To finish the card, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

In addition to collecting cards, Altenew is donating 20% of the profits earned by 6/19/19 from selected stamp sets, including the one I used for today’s card, to the Food Bank of Central New York to support seniors in need.  Here are the sets in the collection:

  40. Such a pretty card, with the lovely floral spray and soft coloring. Easy enough to replicate a few times to make cards for this project, too. Thanks for the idea!
