Hi there, I hope you’re having a great week!
Today is day two of Altenew’s celebration of their 5th anniversary! If you arrived from Kim Jeffress’ blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Blog. Check the bottom of this post for the full blog hop list!
For this special blog hop, I chose one of my favorite Altenew stamp sets, Engraved Flowers.* I really love these blooms, with their trailing vines and leaves, and the beautiful accompanying sentiments!
I started by stamping a collection of flowers and leaves in Copic-friendly black ink onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock and then I settled down to color. I used R81, R83, R85, and R89 for the blooms, with a bit of Y23 and YR12 for the centers of the open flowers. To add a bit of detail and texture to the center of those open flowers, I made small dots with a black Sakura Glaze pen. For the leaves I used YG61, G43, and G46. I cut out the images and set them aside to work on the background.
Using the Fine Frames Cover Die, I die cut a piece of Neenah Solar White and then picked out a few of the fine frames. I used a glue pen to adhere them to an A2-sized panel of Neenah Solar White and then played around with positioning the flowers and leaves. When I had sense of the layout, I used black pigment ink to stamp the sentiment.
Then I adhered the flowers and leaves with Zots Bling adhesive dots. I love using these dots for arrangements of florals because they hold strongly and also allow for the pieces to softly lift away from the background, without the firmness of foam tape. To finish the card, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

What a beautiful card…the coloring of the flower, the layering of the frames…texture and color are a super combo resulting in an eye-catching card.
