Hi there, and happy weekend!
Today’s card features a new stamp set from Altenew’s January release. If you haven’t seen the January release blog hop and want to see more inspiration for this month’s release, check my post where you’ll see the entire list of makers that participated this month, with links to their blogs.
I started by stamping the primary image from the Stained Glass Window set in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Then I used Copics to do some quick coloring with minimal blending. I used BV01, BV02, BV04, and BV08 for the purple flowers, YG61, YG63, and YG67 for the leaves, and YR21, Y38, and YR27 for the yellow dots.
I used the coordinating die to partial die cut the panel so that only part of the circle was cut out. If you’re not familiar with partial die cutting, I recommend watching one of Jennifer McGuire’s many videos on the topic.
For the striped panel, I used the same black ink to stamp the Altenew Pinstripe background stamp onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White. Then I backed the Copic-colored piece with foam tape and then adhered it over the striped panel.
For the sentiment, I used Wow! Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss a sentiment from the Stained Glass Window stamp set onto 110# black Recollections cardstock. To adhere it to the card front, I added a bit of foam tape under just the right side, where it would sit over the striped panel, and added some liquid glue on the left side. And finally to finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for visiting!
